BALKANIZE!, Richmond’s only Old World TurkoBalkan folk music ensemble, is currently looking for a lead female vocalist. Interested singers must be willing to sing in Albanian, Armenian, Bulgarian, Greek, Hungarian, Macedonian, Romanian, Romany, Serbian, Turkish, and other Balkan, Eastern European and Middle and Near Eastern languages; ability to play a musical instrument a definite plus. We rehearse at least once each week, and we perform live for belly dance and international folk dance occasions but are looking to expand our live performances to other venues soon.
